Desktop App
The briefing arrives with nothing open.
The work happens off your screen.
Skopx lives in the tray instead of a browser tab. Your briefing arrives as a native notification, and the click-through work runs in a browser profile of its own, beside the one you are using.
Version 0.1.0, published August 31, 2026 · All files and release notes
macOS, Windows and Linux. Included with every Skopx plan. Chrome is required for the browser work.

What It Adds
Four things a tab cannot do.
The window opens straight on your workspace, signed in, and stays signed in across restarts. It never opens on a marketing page. Everything below is what the frame adds around it.
It reaches you
The morning briefing arrives as a native OS notification. Nothing has to be open for it to land, and no tab has to survive the night.
One keystroke away
A global hotkey summons the window from inside whatever you are doing: Cmd+Shift+Space on macOS, Ctrl+Shift+Space on Windows and Linux.
Quick actions in the tray
Open Skopx, jump to today’s brief, pause automation, or quit, straight from the tray icon without going near the window.
A browser of its own
Skopx drives your installed Chrome through a separate, persistent profile, so the tab you are looking at is never taken over.
Background Work
It clicks through the busywork somewhere else.
A background process drives your installed Chrome through a profile of its own. You sign into a site once, inside Skopx, and after that the work runs while your own windows stay exactly where you left them.
It joins the same task queue as the browser extension, so a job runs on whichever client is awake.

Running on Desktop

Ran on Extension
Waiting for you
Submit the supplier onboarding form
DismissApprovePublish, send, pay, delete and submit always stop for a human.
The same gate as the extension, on both clients. The desktop adds a place to run, never a second set of rules.
Extension And Desktop
Two places to work. One rulebook.
They are not versions of each other, and neither replaces the other. The extension acts inside the browser you are already signed into. The desktop acts out of sight, and reaches the rest of the machine.
Both join the same task queue, and both pass through the same safety gate. Run one, or run both.
Requirements
What it needs to run.
macOS
macOS 10.15 Catalina or newer. Apple Silicon and Intel are separate downloads.
Windows
Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit.
Linux
A 64-bit desktop with GTK 3 and WebKitGTK 4.1. Built on Ubuntu 22.04, so Ubuntu 22.04 and Debian 12 are the oldest releases it targets.
Google Chrome
Installed normally. The background browser drives the Chrome you already have rather than downloading one of its own. Without Chrome the app runs and the browser work does not.
A Skopx plan
Any plan. The app opens on the workspace you already have, and the download costs nothing on top.
The macOS build has been run on Apple Silicon. The Windows and Linux builds come off the same pipeline and have not been run on real hardware yet. If one of them misbehaves, tell us and it gets fixed.
Installing
First launch, step by step.
Every operating system checks an app it has not seen before. Here is the exact sequence on each one. It happens on the first launch and not again.
macOS
Open the DMG and drag Skopx into Applications. On the first launch, right-click the app and choose Open, then Open again in the dialog. macOS asks once per install.
Windows
Run the installer. If SmartScreen puts up a blue panel, choose More info, then Run anyway.
Linux
The .deb installs through your package manager. For the AppImage, mark it executable with chmod +x and run it.
Not In This Build
What it does not do yet.
Four capabilities people reasonably expect from a desktop app. They are designed and written down. None of them is in the download.
Meeting mode from system audio
The desktop app cannot capture what your speakers are playing.
Native application automation
It drives Chrome. It does not drive Outlook, Excel, or any other desktop application.
Local file indexing
Nothing on your disk is read, indexed, or uploaded.
MCP hosting
The app does not host MCP servers.
Install It
Put Skopx in your tray.
Included with every plan, on every platform. Tomorrow the briefing finds you without a tab to find it in.
